Another popular pizzeria is finally coming to Gainesville.
Marco’s Pizza, established in 1978, opens its new location in the Publix Mall at 3720 NW 13th Street on May 2.
Owner and Gainesville resident Parth Chaudhari brings the franchise to the area after sampling the food at a Jacksonville store.
“I tried the product in Jacksonville one day and fell in love with it,” Chaudhari said. “I was like, you know what, we need this in Gainesville.”
As a new franchisee, Chaudhari said it paid between $400,000 and $425,000 in costs associated with retail space, construction and necessary equipment. He signed a multi-unit contract and plans to open two more stores in the area in the coming years.

The new location is looking to fill 20 jobs, split into 10 crew members and 10 delivery drivers. Crew will earn between $10 and $15 an hour, he said, while drivers can expect to earn between $15 and $20 an hour in tips.
There are many Marco’s Pizza locations spread throughout Florida. The franchise says it offers authentic Italian-style pizzas with fresh dough and the highest quality ingredients. The locations offer a mix of classic and original specialty pizzas as well as a variety of its signature “Pizza Bowls”.
“Our crust is what stands out,” Chaudhari said. “Marco’s makes all of its fresh dough on site every day.”
Don’t want pizza? No problem. Customers can also choose from baked subs, as well as creations like CheezyBread, dips and chicken wings, salads and desserts. Stores offer transportation, delivery, application, and online ordering options.
Based in Toledo, Ohio, Marco’s claims to be one of the fastest growing pizza franchises with over 1,000 locations in 34 states and US territories, including Puerto Rico and the Bahamas.
The franchise was recently named to Newsweek’s 2022 list of “America’s Best Customer Service” for pizza chains. And in 2019, it was recognized as the most popular pizza in the United States in a Harris poll.
